Our mission
Every year, admissions grows more competitive and more confusing. Rules change, testing policies shift, and advice online is often outdated or contradictory. We built College Gate Strategy to give applicants a single, trustworthy place to understand how admissions actually works in 2026 — and to plan their next move with confidence.
What we offer
The Site brings together a complete admissions playbook, in both English and Korean:
- A four-pillar strategic framework for a winning application
- A sortable, filterable comparison of the top 50 US universities
- Interactive planning tools — a readiness diagnostic, a timeline planner, and a score-fit checker
- A year-by-year preparation checklist and a full deadline calendar
- An essay-writing guide and answers to dozens of common questions
Our approach to data
Our content is grounded in real, verifiable information — not opinion or hype. We draw on official and reputable sources, and where figures are cited, we point to where they come from. Those sources include the Common Application, NACAC, individual college admissions offices, U.S. News & World Report, QS World University Rankings, the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale, among others.
Our perspective is also informed by our founder's years of experience inside US higher education and with highly competitive academic admissions and competitions, and by his published work on achievement strategy.
Editorial principles
- Accuracy first. We verify figures against primary sources and note the date of the data.
- Clarity over hype. We explain trade-offs honestly, including when a strategy may not fit everyone.
- No false promises. Admissions is holistic and outcomes vary. Our tools inform decisions; they do not predict results.
- Always verify. Policies change. We encourage readers to confirm details directly with each institution.
A note on our tools
The interactive tools on this Site — such as the readiness diagnostic and the fit checker — are designed to help you reflect and plan. They are educational aids, not admissions decisions or chance estimates.
