Dr. Joungmin Lee

College Gate Strategy is written and built by Dr. Joungmin Lee — an educator, author, and internationally award-winning composer.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from The Ohio State University, serves as Director of the School of Music at Georgia Central University's Dallas Extension Site, and has taught as a professor at several US institutions.

One conviction runs through his work: high achievement is a system, not luck. He is the author of the #1 Amazon best-seller Winning Competitions: It's Not Luck, It's a System, and he brings that same evidence-based, systematic approach — along with a professor's inside view of US academia — to college admissions. Bilingual in Korean and English, he built this site to help Korean-speaking families in particular navigate the US system with clarity.

Those sources include the Common Application, NACAC, individual college admissions offices, U.S. News & World Report, QS World University Rankings, the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale, among others.

Our perspective is also informed by our founder's years of experience inside US higher education and with highly competitive academic admissions and competitions, and by his published work on achievement strategy.
